WELCOME TO SWEENEYBRASS
Thanks for the busy summer everyone! Glad we were able to help so many musicians get back at it with clean and refreshed instruments. Best of luck to all in this new season and school year!
I’m going to take a little break now and try to catch up on some of my long standing projects so I won’t be taking on any new work for the time being. If you have a project at my shop and it’s been a while…it’s all coming together soon!
Thanks for your patience as I work through all of the awesome projects I have on my plate and thanks again for the support over the summer.
I am grateful for your trust and support for my small workshop - I look forward to working with all of you !
got a quick fix?
You need a water key cork replaced?
Just a small repair to get you back up and playing?
YES, we’ll still have open shop hours on Saturdays from 10-4pm.
Repairs will be done on a first come first serve basis and I'll do my best to have repairs done the same day to keep you going!

About
SWEENEYBRASS is the workshop and repair facility run by Scott Sweeney, musician and maker who grew up here in Cary, NC.
Scott attended Dillard Drive Middle School, Athens Drive High School, and the North Carolina School of the Arts before moving to NYC to get a degree in bass trombone performance from the Manhattan School of Music. While there he was active as a musician with various groups - from rock bands to Broadway and Oompah bands to orchestras - there was never a shortage of performing.
As a repairman, Scott worked in one of NYC's busiest shops and was lucky enough to be called upon by some of the greatest musicians the city had to offer. After nearly a decade, Scott has returned home and brought his workshop and craft with him.
In addition to running the workshop, Scott has enjoyed performing with local groups like the North Carolina Symphony, the Durham Symphony Orchestra, the Raleigh Civic Symphony, the Triangle British Brass Band, and the Triangle Wind Ensemble.
Scott has served as a guest lecturer at numerous universities and high schools throughout the Triangle. He has taught masterclasses on instrument repair, maintenance and low brass performance. He is available for future group/or class engagements - please email ops@sweeneybrass.com for details.

SHOP POLICIES
A FEW THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND…
Pricing estimates are subject to change depending on unforeseen necessary repairs. If the final cost will exceed $75 of original estimate, SweeneyBrass will notify the customer prior to completion of the work.
Instruments not picked up within 30 days of completion will be subject to a $40 storage fee recurring for each 30 days the horn is left unclaimed. After 90 days, instruments are considered abandoned and property of SweeneyBrass LLC and may be sold to recover lost wages.
Payment for repairs is due in full before items may be removed from shop property.
We are glad to accept payment in the forms of cash, check, credit, debit, Venmo, and Paypal.
Card payments will incur a 3% fee to cover costs of processing.
We charge a flat rate $10 materials fee per horn to help offset the rising costs of supplies.
We do everything in our power to maintain the integrity of your instrument's applied finish. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee existing lacquer, silver plate, gold plate, or other finishes as they may be compromised and become altered in the cleaning and repair process.
Repairs performed in our workshop carry a 60-day warranty against defective or faulty workmanship.
Thank you so much for supporting our small business.
